MISSION TO
MARS CAMP
Ages 9-15
Week 1 (Full-Day)
More missions have been attempted to Mars than any
other place in the Solar System (except the moon), and
about half of the attempts have failed. Are YOU up for
the challenge?
Participants will act as scientists and engineers charged with
designing, preparing and executing a (simulated) manned
mission to Mars, including everything from designing the
spacecraft and choosing a suitable crew to send, to
selecting a suitable landing site and building a (LEGO)
robotic rover to explore the planet’s surface.
Campers will encounter topics brand new to Mini U like
rocket science, inter-planetary travel, hydroponics, life
support systems, satellite imagery, and communications.
In addition to the completely new content, Mission to
Mars combines elements from other Mini U courses
like Astronomy, LEGO Robotics, Flying Machines,
Engineering, Rocks and Gems, and Spy Kids Camp.
The simulated nature of the camp will include elements
of role-playing, and will even be documented by our
own Movie Making Camp participants.
Ages 5-15
Week 7 (PM), or Week 8 (AM)
Come and learn the basics of the most popular sport in
the world, plus some cool new skills and tricks. Taught
by an experienced soccer instructor, participants will be
grouped by skill and experience, as well as age.
Please dress appropriately for outdoor play.
