Initially, it offered an 18-month pre-boarding training and development program for newly licensed metallurgical and mining graduates, or more commonly known as cadets. In a move to fully equip PMC employees with the most updated knowledge and tools in electrical management, a collaborative project between PMA and Meralco Power Academy (MPA), the Electrical Management Program (EMP) was established. In both mining and the power generating industry, this partnership is considered ground-breaking. It opens possibilities to more shared initiatives between corporate training institutions in the MVP Group of Companies. In line with the objectives of both PMA and MPA, EMP will produce electrical management training programs that will utilize the technical expertise, facilities, and resources of the two companies. Under this partnership, EMP expands and advances the competencies of the electrical engineering teams in Padcal.
