Top 30 Millennial Bajan Entrepreneurs Under 30
What are some of the best lessons I’ve learned about being an entrepreneur in Barbados?
• KNOW YOUR TARGET MARKET!!
• You have to be confident in yourself and your products/services
• Be true to yourself!!
• DO NOT COMPARE YOUR SUCCESS TO OTHERS!!
• DO NOT BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW
• State ALL necessary information during your initial contact with clients i.e booking information,
deposit guidelines and deadlines, any additional fees
• Do not despair over failures. They are stepping blocks, learn from them.
• Always start projects/products/ services only after the deposit has been made.
• Say no to complex last minute orders. Rushed products lack a lot of key elements we pride our
businesses on.
Main differences between Millennials and Previous Generations
The main differences between millennials and previous generations are
• Their mindsets :- PG’s are stuck in the mind frame of working for an already established
company is the best way to reach ultimate success and are satisfied with where things are
at. Millennials on the other hand are independent and enforce chance. They seek new ways
of earning money and bettering life and they go out and get it by creating businesses in a
specified niche market new or otherwise.
• Flexibility:- Millennials are born into an era of access (technology) right at our finger tips,
this allows us to work remotely and/or have flexible working arrangements which can boost
productivity and save employers money. PG’s on the other hand work the standard 9-5
which causes poor production and loads of stress whilst costing the employers.
• Methods of Working:- PG’s are more focused on Manual Labor (Hard Way) which is time
consuming and in some cases lack consistency. Millennials work smarter with the use of
machinery which aids in both productivity and consistency.

What has my business taught me about life?
Di’s Indulgence has taught me patience, restraint, discipline and extreme tact. It has taught me that
people can be very disingenuous and it’s the people closest to you who will try to take advantage of you.
But most importantly Di’s Indulgence has taught me to be confident, to be my true authentic self at all
times and to stand up for and in what I believe in no matter the circumstances.
What is the latest with Di’s Indulgence?
As awareness about healthy living/eating rises within our community once more, clients are expressing
their concern as to what they can and cannot consume on their healthy lifestyle journey. In addition to
this, many customers have been inquiring about cakes and other desserts without specific ingredients
because of allergies they may have or chronic illnesses which prevent them from using certain items. As
a result of their sensitivities and concerns we decided to do some research on Dietary Restrictive and
Allergen Free Desserts so that we would be more suited to serve our clients.
And so it was a great honour to announce on January 1st 2019, the launch of our Allergen Free and
Dietary Restrictive Desserts. The line covers Egg Free, Diary Free, Soy Free, Nut Free and Gluten Free
Desserts. These desserts allow you to have your favourite sweet treat without all the health woos of the
past.
As it relates to new projects, at this time I’d say maybe in a few months. At this moment I’m still pretty
excited about the Allergen Free and Dietary Restrictive Desserts we recently launched. So for now our
main focus is fine tuning our recipes with the help of the feedback we would’ve received thus far. Once
we are all satisfied with our end product, only then will we embark upon a new project.
