food should be the right of every human being, and a ma-
jor part of this void with our own region was simply, access. I
came to this realization after my recovery from an illness that
set this new direction in my life. As I started paying attention,
as I never had before, to my own health, I also began to pay
close attention to that of the people around me, in our country
and wider still. Focus is an amazing thing. I could begin to see
the patterns that had developed. It started from a ‘Health and
Nutrition’ problem and the Biotech solutions I discovered sent
me into the realm of solving Climate Change, Agricultural,
and other Environmental issues. Dots that are all connected.
As you can imagine it has taken much research and effort,
and the journey continues.
3.) What are some of the tangible results that you have
seen since starting your business?
Much of my work has been toward creating or growing
healthy soil, to grow robust and resilient plants, while improv-
ing the level of beneficial organisms in a given environment. I
have seen how changes in the products you use, from those
that pollute the environment, to those that support it, as the
agricultural ones we develop, paired with the right practic-
es can drastically improve the productivity and biodiversity
of soils in a short space of time. Which is key for long-term
health and productivity.

1.)
Who is Joshua in business (describe) ?
I am a confident leader with a very clear focus and mis-
sion. I believe proper planning and preparation prevents
piss poor performance, this is a principle seek to practice in
everything I put my energy into. I set a high standard for the
quality of everything that I create; in every opportunity, the
best that can be done is the standard. Dedication, commit-
ment, perseverance and some words I would use to describe
myself, with a healthy hunger for knowledge, continuous im-
provement and very ambitious. Not only to improve myself but
to see those that I work with grow as well.
At the core are my passion and purpose. Having a clear
vision for what I am here to do and putting every thought
and movement into seeing that result. I believe in taking a
risk and always tend to quote the SAS(Secret Air Service,
UK) motto, “Who Dares, Wins”. Ultimately, I believe in treating
people with respect and measure them by the content of their
character.
2.) What inspired you to first start your Red Diamond
Compost?
There were a series of events, which led me to start Red
Diamond, but what really sparked that light bulb in my head
was the moment I realized that not only clean, but nutrient-rich

4.) What in your opinion are some of the main differenc-
es between Millennials and previous generations as it relates
to doing business?
One main difference is definitely time. The speed or pace
at which things are done, from making decisions to execut-
ing tasks. Previous generations tend to still be using dial-up,
while millennials are trying to get things done 10 times fast-
er, smarter(more efficient), getting more done with less effort
and it is a constant race to set a new pace. Another one that
comes to mind is a simplification of tasks, which I guess goes
back to time and efficiency. We want to remove all the un-
necessary red tape and fictitious barriers to entry, streamline
processes and protocols on every level. We learned from the
previous generation that time is money, but our scale is now
much larger and in today’s world, every second count.
5.) Fun lightning round:
Coke or Sprite: Neither, but if I have to choose. Sprite.
Vanilla or Chocolate: Chocolate
Hunter or Gatherer: Both
Favourite Bajan sweet treat: Sugar. Joking, but if I ever
had a favourite it was Sugar Cake.
Facebook or Instagram: Instagram
6.)
What has your business taught you about life?
In short, never take no for an answer, and never give up,
because just beyond that point where you feel like quitting is a
success. Finally, it is very important not to let the limitations of
others become limitations for yourself. Having a strong foun-
dation of guiding principles are key to staying the course and
knowing when you need to pivot in business, as in life.
