The retail sector is a good space for showing creativity, and
so is media and the arts. In this issue, we speak with four area
women who successfully express themselves in different for-
mats. Traffic reporter Kelly Dillon (“A Broadcast Career Born at
WSOU”) shares how what she learned at Seton Hall shaped her
future. South Orange resident Laura Sims (“Sunny in Person,
Sinister on the Page”) reveals that her debut novel, Looker, is
being developed for television. Actress Stephanie Kurtzuba, most
recently seen as mob wife Irene Sheeran in The Irishman, talks
to us about working with Martin Scorsese, and the Maplewood-
to-Broadway pipeline. And in our inaugural “Influencer” column,
prolific Instagram poster Lizzie Assa describes how she helps
families keep the fun in their daily lives.
