Dr . Stone is aproponent of sedation therapy for patients who are anxious about treatment . The therapy can range from taking apill prior to treatment that produces arelaxed state to general anesthesia , during which alicensed anesthesiologist monitors the patient while dental work is performed .
The newest technology Gentle Caring Dentistry has adopted is the Cinema ProMed , which allows patients to have arelaxing experience . Wearing special multi-media glasses , patients are immersed in a2Dor3Dvideo experience while in the dental chair . “ The glasses help reduce anxiety by visually removing patients from the clinical surroundings . Dr . Stone believes snoring has anegative impact on relationships and notes that about 50 percent of the population snores . To promote harmony and agood night ’ s sleep , she recommends acustom-made , custom-fitted mouth guard to alleviate the condition .
Teeth grinding , that usually occurs while aperson sleeps , can result in afractured or broken tooth . Dr . Stone urges people to make an appointment so that she can assess if teeth have been damaged by grinding . Acustom-fitted mouth guard worn while sleeping can remedy the problem .
