BUBBLES OR NO BUBBLES?
The modern-day claw foot bathtub in the master bath is similar to one the family had in
their former house. On one side of it is the shower and on the other a water closet. The space
that encompasses this room and the walk in closet (left) was at one time a bedroom. To make
the bathroom and closet area flow seamlessly, the same granite was used for the counters and
built-in storage. The fireplace is one of five in the home. Its surround is glass and marble tile
arranged in a floral design.

Lexi had a choice when they moved here.
Take the bedroom down the hall and share the
bathroom with her brother or pick this room,
which was dark and cave like, but had great
potential. She chose wisely. Added to the
structure in the 1920’s, the space was crying out
for a makeover. Freshly painted white beams
and rafters, along with green walls transformed
it into a bright and sunny teen dream. The new
bathroom, all hers, also helps. Sleepovers and
hours of hanging out here are now the norm.
“She and her friends only come out when they
need something to eat,” says Debra. The light
fixture is from Pottery Barn. ■
