ACCORDING TO THE NIH, UNTREATED GUM DISEASE IS THE MOST PREVALENT CAUSE OF TOOTH LOSS IN ADULTS. MOUNTING
documentation connects invasive gum bacteria to chronic inflammatory conditions including cardiovascular
disease, diabetes, adverse pregnancy outcomes, osteoporosis and chronic respiratory conditions, among others.
Because of its impact on overall health, Top Dentist Cheryl Goren Robins focuses on treating active disease, as
well as ensuring there is a plan to prevent recurrence. Using state-of-the-art technology including dental lasers,
digital x-rays and a CBCT scanner for 3D imaging, she is able to diagnose and treat patients more successfully
than ever before. “Being a successful periodontist is not just about treating periodontal disease,” she says, “It
also involves partnering with patients to keep it away for decades afterwards. Our patients keep their teeth
because we have a philosophy and a protocol for long-term maintenance. Our success is measured by the
number of patients who have retained their teeth throughout their lifetimes.”
Dr. Robins is also known for restoring teeth and smiles with dental implants, as well as for performing
procedures to replace lost bone and gum tissue. According to Dr. Robins, despite the initial cost, implants are

often better and less costly long-term solutions for replacing missing teeth because they do not decay and do
not compromise adjacent teeth. “One of my greatest rewards is witnessing the difference that dental implants
make in a patient’s quality of life,” she says. “They are able to eat their favorite foods again and have renewed confidence in social situations.”
Dr. Robins is the recipient of over 15 major awards and commendations, including consistently being named to New Jersey Monthly’s Top Dentists. Following her
periodontal specialty degree, she received additional training in all phases of dental implant and regenerative therapy during her two-year fellowship at NYU College of
Dentistry. She remains on faculty in the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Robins is involved in more than 10 national and local
dental organizations, including being Director of the local chapter of the prestigious Seattle Study Club.
“I have been extremely fortunate to practice with a great staff and wonderful local dentists. Together, I feel that we are able to accomplish tremendous results for our
patients, and for that I am very grateful.”
