A
s we continue to evolve as a
culture, so do the designs of
the dwellings in which we live
and work. Take, for example,
the beautiful former home of
Nureed Saeed in South Orange
(“When the Designer is the Client”). Had she
designed it a generation ago, the mid-century modern theme
running throughout wouldn’t have been nearly
as striking. And in “Going to Cowork,” we share seven
locations where individuals can work remotely – a new
and growing phenomenon.
Of course, some things don’t change, like the ability of
area innovators to surprise and delight. Maplewood resident
Marina Budhos explores the young immigrant experience in
her many novels (“Different, but the Same”) and chef David
Burke brings his creative cooking to his new eponymous res-
taurant in South Orange. Do you have a new project you’d
like to share? Let us know on social media. ■
