Our team has extensive experience of advising on large scale ECA financings in the region, and we have advised on financings involving all themajor ECAs that are active in the energy and infrastructure sector( including most recently advising on JBIC’ s first mini-perm financing for a renewables project financing). In addition our team has significant, and widespread experience of advising on Islamic finance deals throughout the Middle East region. We have worked with Islamic banks, Shari’ a committees and financial advisers on some of the most prominent Islamic finance transactions in the region. Our deeprooted knowledge and understanding of:( i) Islamic finance structures,( ii) Shari’ a committee requirements and( iii) how to ensure that conventional and Islamic finance parties work together in a collaborative way, means that we can immediately add value to the financing process( including in relation to structuring issues).

• Wadi Ad Dawasir PV IPP— TotalEnergies and Tamasuk consortium as the preferred bidder for the Wadi Ad Dawasir IPP in Saudi Arabia, being one of four deals being tendered under the latest round of REPDO renewables
• Zuluf WTP— Lenders to a bidding consortium for the Zuluf WTP in Saud Arabia
• Ras Tanura IWWTP— Lenders to a bidding consortium for the Ras Tanura WTP in Saud Arabia
• Mirfa 2 IWP— Acciona Agua regarding its bid for the Mirfa 2 IWP in Abu Dhabi( UAE)
• Al Kharsaah IPP— Marubeni Corporation and Total regarding the development, implementation and financing of the 800.15 MW Al Kharsaah Solar PV Independent Power Project in Qatar. Al Kharsaah reached financial close on 22 July 2020 notwithstanding COVID-19 related impediments and complications.
• REPDO 2 Category B 1.4 GW solar PV IPPs— Marubeni Corporation and Al Jomaih Energy and Water Company, as top short-listed bidder for one of the four solar PV projects( namely the Rabigh 300 MW solar PV IPP) being tendered under this second round of the Saudi Arabian National Renewable Energy Program
• Hassyan 120 MIGD Reverse Osmosis IWP— consortium of international and regional lenders in support of Utico’ s project financing( as winning bidder) for the 120 MIGD Hassyan IWP
• Alcazar Energy Partners— development and financing of four 50 MW solar projects in Round 2 of Egypt’ s solar feed-in-tariff programme
