4 Mid Hudson Times, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 Newburgh man charged with rape A Newburgh man was arrested on Wednesday by Saugerties Police on five counts of rape for allegedly having sex with a minor. Robert Bruno, 58, of Kyla Court in Newburgh, was also charged with criminal sexual act. His arrest stems from an investigation conducted by Saugerties Police after a report was made alleging Bruno has sexual intercourse with a minor. He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond. The Ulster County Family and Child advocacy Center assisted Saugerties Police in the investigation. B riefs 3-car accident in Coldenham Patriot’s Day event planned The City of Newburgh will host a Patriot’s Day Remembrance Ceremony to honor residents of Orange County who were victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The event will be at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the 9/11 Memorial Park located at the intersection of Park Place and Grand Street on the northern edge of the City. The park’s granite memorial was dedicated one year after the attacks. Representatives will read the names of victims from Orange County. The service is open to the public and all are invited to attend. HeartSaver CPR, First Aid and Narcan Class offered Health Education Programs, in collaboration with APG Polates and Keep It Moving, will host a HeartSaver CPR, First Aid and Narcan Class on Saturday, Sept. 21 at APG Pilates, 87 Liberty Street, Newburgh. Wellness Fair planned for Newburgh Campus Sept. 26 Representatives from local health and human services agencies will gather to answer questions and provide information when SUNY Orange hosts its upcoming Newburgh Campus Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26 in the Great Room of Kaplan Hall on the College’s Newburgh campus. Coordinated by the College’s Wellness Center, the Wellness Fair is open to students, faculty, staff and community members and will emphasize wellness for the mind, body and spirit. Throughout the event, attendees may take advantage of an array of free services, which may include blood pressure readings, cholesterol checks, blood glucose monitoring, and HIV Quick Tests. Flu shots, provided by Rite-Aid, will also be available. To obtain a flu shot, visitors will need to present an insurance card (most insurances accepted) or pay in cash. Photos by Bob McCormick Coldenham Firefighters were dispatched to a three vehicle serious accident with possible entrapment on International Blvd/ Exit 5A on Sept 6. Command requested Medivac to scene. Firefighters were using jaws of life on one vehicle to free subject. Vails Gate was sounded to set up LZ on International Blvd with eta for Medivac ten minutes. Multi EMS were brought to scene and International Blvd was shut down. Medivac landed on International Blvd the subject was removed from vehicle and airlifted to Westchester County Medical Center. New York State Police were assisted at scene by Town of Montgomery and Town of Newburgh Police. Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 was also at the scene.
