Prevention is better than a cure How the unique dual-action system works The Micron Finer extended oil life system combines the dual-action of filtration and evaporation to remove all oil based contaminants. The contaminated oil, with abrasive particles, soot, liquids, and oxidation by-products such as gum or varnish, enters the unit through a small metering jet under normal engine oil pressure supplied by the engine’s oil pump. Evaporation ? ? ? Unique thin film evaporation chamber design Heating element Thin film evaporation effect removes water, fuel (light hydrocarbons), and sulphur dioxide/trioxide Filtration ? ? ? Long-strand, unbleached, unprocessed cotton Solid contaminants filtered down to 1 micron Slow flow rate (11 gallons per hour) in order to retain solid contaminants and allow chemical reaction with cotton (acid retention) ? Prevents buildup of sludge Example Cost Analysis Based on 1,000 kva generator, running 3,000 hours per year, 48 gallon oil capacity, industry average labor, oil, and filter prices. Engine oil and filter maintenance costs before EOLD is fitted (with standard service intervals of 400 hours). = $3,580.00 Engine oil and filter costs after EOLS fitted (with extended service intervals of 1,600 hours). = $1,003.00 Operational savings per year. = $2,577.00
