PREVENTIVES MEASURES IN SUMMER

The heat is already here. The high temperatures are difficult to support, especially in the central hours of the day. To prevent excessive heat from being a problem it’ll be a good idea to adopt a few basic precautions. When the temperature is high doing our daily activities (displacements, work or study) can become a hard task. Taking that in account it’s important to adopt some simple measures to prevent the extreme heat from affecting our health.
We present you ten basic advices that will help with the summer heat, so it doesn’t become an issue for your health.
1. Watch out for the most vulnerable groups.
You need to keep special attention for the most vulnerable groups. Being babies, small children, old people and the ones that suffer from a chronic condition the most vulnerable to excessive heat.
2. Hydration is fundamental.
Drink water and liquids often. Do not abuse drinks with caffeine, alcohol or sugary drinks.
3. Keep an eye on your meals.
Feed well. Eat often and choose light plates that also help you keep hydrated. Salads, fruit, cold soups as the gazpacho, must be an important part of your summer diet.
4. Protect yourself from the Sun.
Use sunscreen several times a day. Extreme precautions with the children, use a stronger sunscreen, avoid staying under the sun for extended periods of time… In the beach, the swimming pool or the park stay under the umbrella.
