Forecasts warn that winter is here. Temperatures drop and the arrival of snow is announced. An element that not only reduces considerably the grip of your tires on the road, it also limits our visibility and may even block circulation if chains are not available. And it is not enough to have chains, you also have to know how to place them.
Among the risks involved in driving with snow, are hidden signs and road markings, reduces the visibility of the driver and can cause feeling of dizziness. With the first snowflakes, the road becomes very slippery. As the thickness of it increases, difficulties increase and it will not be able to circulate without chains. Before a snowfall, the first thing we have to do, according to the recommendations of the Traffic Department, is to turn on the dipped beam, reduce the speed and increase the safety distance. It is better to move around the tracks of other vehicles and avoid moving the steering wheel abruptly.
When starting the vehicle, do not accelerate and release the clutch foot smoothly.
To climb slopes, use the longest possible gear to avoid skidding on the road.
The chains must be placed on the driving wheels.
