¿QUÉ SON LAS OPERACIONES MIO Y
POR QUÉ SE LLEVAN A CABO?
Resumen
El presente Trabajo tiene como propósito el
estudio de las Operaciones de Interdicción
Marítima, y cómo estas se relacionan con
el contexto Internacional actual, donde
prácticamente las guerras convencionales
entre dos naciones soberanas parecen
haber llegado a su fin. El surgimiento de
nuevas amenazas asimétricas que no poseen
banderas ni territorios como el terrorismo
y el narcotráfico ha generado un cambio
de paradigma buscando establecer las
cuestiones fundamentales por las cuales a mi
entender las Armadas deben adiestrarse en la
realización de las operaciones MIO.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to study the Maritime
Interdiction Operations and how they relate
to the current international context, where
practically the conventional wars between
two sovereign nations seem to have come to
an end and the emergence of new asymmetric
threats such as terrorism and drug traffic
has generated a paradigm shift seeking to
establish the fundamental issues by which, in
my opinion, the Navy must be trained in the
conduct of MIO operations.
