Heavyweight Comeback
Win over Rebels
by Valaria Herrera
The fourth game of the day found Silver Spring House battling Trinity. Silver Spring House started Jason Kirkpatrick in goal, his first time ever in that position. Trinity opened the scoring with a point scored by Teddy Reutz. Silver Spring House forced 65s that resulted in no points for the Rebels. Trinity however, were not giving up on scoring and eventually Meghan Neuenschwander put the sliotar in the back of the net, giving Trinity three points. Scoring two more points, coupled with some good clears by Nick Neuman on defense, Trinity left the first quarter in the lead and in high spirits. The Heavyweights ended with a score of 0-0 (0), leaving Trinity with 1-3 (4). The quarter was defined by both teams defenses and some missed opportunities by their offenses.
Heading into the second, Silver Spring House came roaring back. But with some good saves by Trinity captain and goalie Ivan Baker, the Heavyweights were forced to take their points instead as they fought to gain the upper hand. Two fouls in a row on the Rebels resulted in the sliotar moving down the field in favor of Silver Spring House, resulting in a point by Joel Ingebrigtson.
