JOY REID : FIRED BY MSNBC TWO DAYS AFTER NAACP GIVES HER IMAGE AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING NEWS SHOW
 By DeWAYNE WICKHAM
Shortly after the news broke in February that Joy Reid , the acerbic TV talk show host and Donald Trump nemesis was being let go by MSNBC , the Republican president took to the social media platform he owns to gloat .
In delighting over Reid ’ s dismissal , which came during an overhaul of the cable network ’ s programming , Trump called Reid a “ mentally obnoxious racist ” who “ should have been ‘ canned ’ long ago .”
In his statement , Trump tied Reid to his assertion that MSNBC is a purveyor of “ Fake News ,” which he called an “ unpardonable sin ” – this from a president whose first term in the White House was shrouded in “ an odor of mendacity .”
According to The Washington Post , it is Trump – not Reid – who is a proven trafficker of “ Fake News .” Shortly after Trump ’ s first term in the White House ended , The Post reported that the one-time reality TV show host , told “ 30,573 untruths ” during his initial four years in the White House .
And since moving back into the Oval Office on January 20 , Trump has picked up where he left off .
“ As he did during his first presidency , Trump made false claims with a frequency and variety unmatched by any other elected office in Washington ,” CNN reported just one month into his second presidency .
