Keeping the lights on and so much more
If research grants are the lifeblood of the
Martinos Center, the grants administration
team is the beating heart at its core. Led by the
incomparable Mary Roy and including Jody
Roberts, Ashley D’Hooge and Nelson Gicana,
the team plays an essential role in submitting
and managing the many grants that drive Center
investigators’ myriad scientific advances.

Among the areas that depend on the team’s
talents: infrastructure. This past year saw a wave
of new grants supporting both maintenance and
expansion of the Center’s infrastructure, with
the latter including the addition of cutting-edge
imaging technologies such as a 7-Tesla human
MRI system and an MR-compatible PET insert
for a small-bore scanner.
