The best part of being a graduate student at the Martinos
Center is the community here. I’ve been able to draw so
much knowledge from my advisors and peers, both in
terms of scientific and technical experience, as well as
practical knowledge about how to navigate grad school
and academia in general.
Melissa Haskell, Harvard University
With so many faculty here at the Martinos Center, I have
especially appreciated all the opportunities I’ve had to
learn from so many different mentors.
Also, the Navy Yard is a beautiful part of Charlestown,
with multiple parks and Boston Harbor just two minutes
away. If I’ve been staring at my computer for too long, I
love being able to walk around such a nice
neighborhood.
Mike Levine, Harvard University
I am inspired by the innovative and cutting-edge nature
of the research being done at the Martinos Center. The
research here is truly pushing the boundaries of current
technologies, while still being directed and inspired by
current clinical needs.
Erica Mason, MIT, Harvard-MIT Division of Health
Sciences and Technology (HST)
The best part of the Martinos Center is the sense of com-
munity among students and faculty. Everyone is always
collaborating and talking about new interdisciplinary
ideas. And even though research is busy, everyone still
makes time for student lunches, talks, retreats, and fun
events outside of lab.
Also, the breakfast pizza at the cafe is amazing.
