MG Car Club of South Australia Sunday 22 July – SCCSA Multi Club Hillclimb Round 3, Collingrove Motorsport Mutterings – July 2018 Upcoming Events for MG Motorsport From..Murray Stephenson Round 3 will be held at Collingrove on 22 nd July. Come out to compete or sup- port the MGCC members on track. It’s a great location for a day out with some good entertainment. Entries via CAMS event entry system. Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 June – MG Interclub Challenge The MG interstate Club Challenge over the Queen’s Birthday weekend went off really well with representation from Gee- long, Victoria and New South Wales MG Car Clubs. Geelong took home the tro- phy ahead of SA, Vic and NSW. See articles elsewhere in this magazine and the website. Sunday 29 July – SA Motorkhana Championship Round 5, Mallala The final round of the SA Motorkhana Championship series will be held on the Mallala skidpan on July 29 th . This is the final chance to practise before the Aus- tralian Championship so some of the serious contenders will be looking for some practice time. Come out to have a go or watch some great car control. As usual, there is an opportunity to Come & Try for first timers. Thank you to the thirty or so MGCC SA members who came out to help on the Sunday as well as the MSCA members who helped to make the event a suc- cess. Sunday 15 July – MSCA Super Sprint Round 3, Mallala Sunday 19 August – MSCA Super Sprint Round 4 with Come & Try, Mallala Round 3 was to include a Come & Try section but this has unfortunately been postponed until the August round. Round 3 is also a round for which MGCCSA provides flag marshals so please let me know if you can assist. Note the change of date for the round 4 super sprint. It was on the 26 th but that clashes with the V8 Taxi Cabs at The Bend so the sprint was brought forward a week. Those who have done this before, and those who tried it at The Bend for the first time, know you get the best seats in the house to watch the action. You will also receive a great lunch and the op- portunity for some parade laps at lunch- time all at no cost to you. No experience is needed as you will be teamed with someone who can show you the ropes. Competitor entries via the CAMS event entry system accessed through the CAMS members portal. This round includes a Come & Try sec- tion for those who haven’t tried sprinting before or are looking to polish their skills. In the C&T group you will receive expert classroom tuition and supervised on track sessions to learn what it’s all about and to have some fun. Alterna- tively, consider giving the opportunity to a family member or friend. Participants do not need to belong to a car club and they purchase a competition licence for the day.
