July 2018 Ken Burke, Hon Secretary of Registers attended to keep an eye on things Reg- ister, he is always welcome and asking if there is anything that he can do for us. Hope his report back is favourable. New member. Here is a young man with pedigree. Ben Adams nephew of John Gillett K3 & Brabham TC Special fame, has purchased TC 6352, XPAG 7031 recently and will become a regular attendant , great news. General Business Items. Peter Wallace arrived with his Green TC which he proudly proclaims has done only 250 Miles since restoration many years ago. Dr Bazz has been instru- mental in getting fuel to the SU’s the results of which have not been deter- mined fully at this stage suffice to say the TC did roll in for viewing by all. Raymond Finch found the trail in from Nairne ok this time and displayed a steering wheel, with chrome plated steel spokes which was offered as an after market unit I believe, also for Aston Mar- tin. Looks great and would go well on Jack Whitings’ TC Special really Ray. The legend, Laurie Foody retrieved his “lost” wine from the Bazzica meeting last month and took to an immediate open- ing of the bottle, leaves nothing to chance does our Laurie. Thanks to Don Offler who has been clearing out his shed of MG memorabilia and handed me some MG T Series and other books and manuals. I will offer them to members, proceeds will go to the club. Russell Girth is progressing with the update of the Register data base and is asking for members to reaffirm the chas- sis and engine numbers of their cars with a description on status of its condi- tion etc. Reg O’Malley informs us that MG Sales is moving out to Smithfield for new parts sales, he is sorting through the remaining old car parts , could be some good stuff to pick through. Check their website. Tim Edmonds MG CC SA Vice Presi- dent spoke to members on the forth- coming MG Challenge at the new race track at Tailem Bend looking for sup- port for marshalling and general club interest. Richard Koch is advertising to sell his late father’s MG TC at Nuriootpa. Great looking car. Club Casualties : Brian “Goldy “Golding , regular to all our meetings from Murray Bridge, rain or shine did not make it on the freeway quite and turned in before Callington. Apparently the venerable TC indicated to its enthu- siastic driver that it had had enough, gave an audible shudder in protest that had Goldy in panic mode. However, fearing a seized engine, he apparently turned around and drove it home which is a miracle in it self ! Good luck Goldy just another rebuild for sure. Geraldine Hough is ok now but she suffered a sudden event that saw her admitted to surgery but she is doing ok from reports with great support from Wayne, best of luck Geraldine for your recovery. NEXT MEETING. The location is in Aldgate. It has none of the following: No Street lights No kerbs & gutters No Footpaths Bring your spotlights, torches, winches, safety vests and survival gear for Lau- rie Foody, the neighbours front lawn is not ideal for parking. Just joking, it’s at Leigh Ritcher’s , 21 Hillside Rd Aldgate, Thursday 5 th July See all of you who are coming, it’s a great night always at Leigh’s. Cheers, John Bray Boss Of The Register. 23
