MG Car Club of South Australia PRE-WAR & T - REGISTER From..John Bray, Photos from David McNabb Register meeting 7 June 2018 The Run for Cover meeting at Benjamin Street St Marys. A bout 6.30 pm a contingent of MG’s were running for the cover of the big shed premises of Ken Fisher’s down at St Mary’s . First in were the MMM Over Head Cammers, hoods down to boot, all in an attempt to upstage the “ soft toppers” or what has become known as the T series Push Rodders. Well done Bazzica & Rudiger, truly blew us away with your brazen display and in saying that, it was a most dreadful run in the wet weather about 6:45pm on South Road .“Fair is foul, and foul is fair, Drive through the fog and the filthy air”. We are grateful to Ken & Rosemary for hosting us on such a ” Macbeth” like night , their premises has become a haven for the Register in winter and we really appreciate the hospitality shown. Ten (10) T Register vehicles, one (1) Y Series and two (2) Prewar MMM cars, ND & KN slid into the shed. Thirty seven (37) signed in the book. Apologies. Brian Forth, Peter Cundy (Poland), Gordo Brice (Jet lag), Trev Driver ( Vic ) , Peter Ships id e (Queenslanding) Terry W right (poorly), Gipsy Willington ( Italy), Don Walks ( frightened off) Garry Chap- man (busy) , David & Joy Pearson (weather) , Geraldine & Wayne Hough ( Geraldine recovering) Two members who should apologise are Mozza Linehan & Paul “the Doc” Dallwitz for not presenting in their T Types, especially Mozza who con- vinced me to meet and drive mine but instead elected to bunk in with Thane in his TC to save getting the TD a little damp. Visitors. Great to see John (Jack ) Whiting who is re- restoring his TC Spe- cial again attended and is going to join the Club. John whose family is well known in Adelaide, has in the rafters another TC which just might make it to the floor and become another mobile TC again. It is interesting that Jack after enduring a broken crankshaft, had one made here in Adelaide. David Crispin, neighbour across the road and master automotive crash re- pairer, great friend of AC Pearson. Com, graced us with his presence again this year, a good bloke doesn’t seem to age. 22
