Centennial
Centennial Early Childhood Family Education( ECFE), in partnership with the Centennial ABE program, has launched ECFE On The Go, a dynamic initiative designed to dismantle barriers and provide high-quality early learning experiences outside of our traditional classroom setting. This isn’ t just a class; it’ s a mobile resource bringing essential development activities to families who need it most.
This collaboration expands the services that residents of the Centennieal Square mobile home park receive right in their community.

Elk River
Three multilingual Elk River ABE students took advantage of Columbia Heights / Fridley ABE’ s Bridge to CNA class last spring. Elk River staff was happy to refer three students to the hybrid class--something the smaller site is not able to offer itself. The students participated in an online class twice a week and attended onsite sessions on Saturdays for three months to prepare them for the state CNA exam. The participants who live in Otsego, Elk River and Zimmerman appreciated the online offering to reduce the need to commute for similar programs. Only needing to commute for the Saturday class made the program manageable for them. After completion of the course, all three students passed the state CNA exam. One has been working at his new CNA position for over a month. The Elk River area is now benefiting from having these individuals looking for local employment.
