This weeks band to watch is a Weston super mare band called this ship is ours . A young metal core band that only started last year and already proving to be a band to watch . The band consist of Jacob Burge – Screaming vocals Morgan Harding – Guitar and Clean Vocals Ryan Pountney – Lead Guitar Josh Hoare-mathews – Bass Kyle Evans – Drums
" After drawing their old band Sucker punch to a close , Morgan , Jake and Jacob were looking for a new sound to keep the music flowing . They wanted to carry on but as a much heavier band and with the addition of Joe Sotiris This Ship Is Ours was born ! After four months of hard work and adding Ryan Pountney on bass we played our first gig supporting Borderline : fire at barcode on the 10 th November 2012 , and delivered a set that surprised the unsuspecting crowd . we then went on to support Everyday Sidekicks at the croft twice , during which Joe sotiris left the band , leading the way for Ryan Pountney to step up to lead guitar and adding Josh and Kyle to the band . Our Highlight of our career is when we Headlined a metal core showcase at the Fleece , where we played the set of our lives and took our game to a completely new level , showing bands that had a lot more experience what we can do and what we ’ re capable of !
