MESSAGES FROM THE MILL | Page 10

By: Ashley Layson In case you haven’t noticed, we have a new face at Peaks Mill. His name is Jordan Allen, but you probably know him as Mr. Allen. We are going behind the scenes to give you the inside scoop on Mr. Allen. I got the great opportunity to do an interview and to get to know him better. He is one of the newest members of the Peaks Mill community and he is excited to be a PME Patriot. Mr. Allen’s Thoughts on Peaks Mill Mr. Allen noticed that Peaks Mill, as a community, is very welcoming and it feels like home. Mr. Allen says that before he worked here at Peaks Mill, “All the teachers and staff would always say hello.” In case you have not noticed, Mr. Allen is the only male teacher. He believes that having a male teacher benefits the school by setting an example for our boys. They need a role model. He tries to dress nice and have positive interactions with other teachers, faculty members and students. Mr. Allen said, “Hopefully, they see me treat people with respect.” His Personal Life In case you haven’t caught on, Mr. Allen and 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Allen, are married. One thing he likes about working with his wife is that they can bounce ideas off each other. At home they have two dogs, their names are Otto and Arya. Otto is his and Arya is Mrs. Allen’s. Mr. Allen says that Mrs. Allen doesn’t like Otto a whole lot. Hobbies A few of Mr. Allen’s hobbies are playing with his dogs. For him it is a way to relax and let loose. He also enjoys fitness and running . For example, he and Mrs. Allen are the coaches of the Peaks Mill Running Club. Mr. Allen says that around March the Running Club will start back up.
