Mesquite ISD Read Play Talk Magazine Spring 2018 | Page 6

Chances are, you have seen the ReadPlayTalk-branded school buses around Mesquite, or you have noticed the ReadPlayTalk centers at various establishments throughout the community. I’m sure you continue to hear the buzz about our early literacy initiative, and you may be intrigued by the message, yet you are still wondering how to get involved. My advice? Don’t over analyze it—just keep it simple. Remember, ReadPlayTalk is a community-owned movement. There are many ways to show your ReadPlayTalk support, but here are a few suggestions of how other businesses have chosen to support the movement. Adopt a “Little Free Library,” create a reading corner or develop a rewards system for customers or clients who support your ReadPlayTalk efforts. Others have held a ReadPlayTalk-themed event to help engage the community in their efforts. Whether you are an individual or a business owner, I encourage each of you to claim ownership of ReadPlayTalk. You can support this unique initiative in your own special way. We all play a part in creating a culture that values early literacy for all of our children. We want to know how you are engaging in the movement. How do you #ReadPlayTalk? Share with us on Facebook @ReadPlayTalk and on Twitter @ReadPlayTalkTX. Is your business or organization interested in supporting and partnering with ReadPlayTalk, but not quite sure where to start?
