Cream Scones Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups flour 1 / 3 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder ½ teaspoon salt 1 ¼ cup heavy cream 1 to 2 teaspoon orange zest
Directions 1 . Combine all dry ingredients together then add the cream . 2 . Add zest if desired . 3 . Knead until moist and create an 8 ” round . 4 . Cut into 8 or 12 wedges and separate on baking sheet . 5 . Brush tops with cream and sprinkle with sugar . 6 . Bake in 425-degree oven for 12-15 minutes . Variations :
• ½ cup dried fruit like cranberries , blueberries , raisins
• ½ cup chocolate chips
• ¼ cup candied ginger
With cranberries and chocolate chips , use orange zest ; with blueberries use lemon .
