Start by cutting 8 pieces of rope all 3 metres in length and 1 piece of rope 2 metres in length. Thread all 8 (3m) pieces through the metal ring, ensuring all ends are even.

Take the 2m rope and lay it approx. 5cm below the ring and create a loop. With the end of the rope, start wrapping up the other ropes towards the ring. Keep it tight, the loop loose and free and the bottom string exposed.

Once you reach the top, thread the end of the 2m rope into the loop and pull the exposed rope at the bottom to make it tight.

Keep pulling until the loop has been pulled under the wrap and then cut both ends.
