6 . Events Vancouver AGM and Conference “ Leading Excellence ”
The Vancouver AGM and Conference netted a positive result even though there were 250 fewer delegates , 40 fewer tickets for the Gala , and only 80 % of the Trade Show booths were sold . This was mostly due to the economic downturn , and it was also a “ Las Vegas Mining Conference ” year which further negatively impacted the outcome . These were anticipated and budgets were adjusted to realistically meet these challenges to result in a positive financial outcome .
The MER participated in the development and delivery of the technical program . The Technical Program shell had a total of 43 sessions of which only 6 sessions were unallocated , leaving 32 sessions . MER provided leadership and delivered on 5 sessions or 16 % while the other 7 groups delivered the balance .
MeMO 2016 Sudbury “ Managing in a Volatile Economy ”
The MER Society having a strong presence in Sudbury worked closely with the local CIM Branch and other Societies to deliver another high quality MeMO Conference . Jo‐Anne Boucher , CIM VP of Central District and MER Past Chair was a MeMO Organizing Committee Co‐Chair . Michelle
