Season Recap: Even though the Yellowjackets finished right where the coaches projected they would at the
beginning of the season, they still surprised a lot of teams in the conference.
After only winning three matches a season ago, Montana State Billings beat Western Washington and tied
NCAA tournament team Simon Fraser on its way to a six win season.
In the fifth week of the season MSUB was sitting at 5-4-4 and in third place in the conference at 3-1-1, but
dropped five of its last six games to finish in in fifth.
The Montana State Billings defense was a big reason the
Yellowjackets were able to stay in so many games. Goalie Tom
Lohmann was third in the conference in saves and won the
defensive Player of the Week award midseason as did
defender Matt Brink.
The Yellowjackets earned three shutouts this season, ranking
fourth in the conference, and allowed one goal to opponents
in six games.
Rhys Lambert scored five goals in his first season with
the Yellowjackets.
Twenty-one of the teams 23 goals were scored by
underclassmen and nine of 11 starters return from this seasons squad, making the Yellowjackets a factor in
the GNAC in 2015.
