The problem can come when, without realizing it, we use loneliness as a form of avoidance and disconnection from the world due to these fears, insecurities or apathy since loneliness becomes a more profound feeling and with the more significant meaning of feeling disconnected, empty, isolated, misunderstood or even abandoned or rejected. Still, it gives us the secondary gain of avoiding facing situations that can be difficult and produce anxiety disorder, without realizing that such loneliness can also feed us anxiety.

Therefore, when we feel lonely, we must be very attentive to why we think this way or what has led us to that circumstance since it does not mean that we are physically alone. Still, our emotional discomfort can increase, affecting our state. of spirit.

On the other hand, if we consider ourselves lonely, introverted or shy people and do not seek interaction with the environment, it can lead to a problem of another nature, since by nature, we are social beings. If we do not consider ourselves, we will lose part of the social stimulation that we need to live. We will have deficiencies in social skills that lead us to face situations and circumstances of life in an inadequate way, which can affect our self-esteem and generate states of anxiety.

And, therefore, when we need warmth in interpersonal relationships, ask for help, seek support, etc., we will not know how to do it, which can have the effect that others do not guess our desires or needs and our needs are confirmed. The initial belief is that we should be alone because we do not interest anyone. After all, the world is selfish.

With all these approaches, we can define loneliness as an emotional state differently, depending on why the person feels such loneliness. But we are clear that loneliness is detrimental to our emotional stability if it lasts over time.
