Inverted Triangle Body Shape - Dan ?
You have an inverted triangle body shape if you:
Ÿ Have a broad shoulders and chest
Ÿ Have well defined shoulders, arm and chest muscles. Your arms
and chest will appear quite big and bulky
Ÿ Have a narrow waist and hips
Your upper body is definitely bigger than your lower body. Quite a few
athletes have this body shape, especially if they have been lifting
weights.
Main Style Aim:
he main style aim of
any inverted triangle
body shape is that you
need to balance the top
half of your body with
the bottom half of your
body., so that you look
more proportionate.
You don’t want to look
like you are really buff
on top with skinny legs.
You want to look in proportion. You can wear
pants and jeans with
side pockets. Also, use
a belt to bring attention
to this area and create
a bit more bulk.
A v -neck t-shirt will
help to bring the eye
down and create a
more proportionate
shape. If you wear a
striped t-shirt ensure
that the stripes go
across the stomach and
not your chest.
Try straight or more relaxed cuts in pants and
jeans as this will balance the bottom half of
your body with the top
half of your body. Skinny jeans don’t work so
well on you as they only
draw attention to the
fact that your top half is
larger. Choose a jacket
that has a double breast
as it will assist in giving
you a bit more bulk
around the waist without adding bulk to the
shoulder area. Avoid
Straight jeans
shoulder padding in
work better
jackets if you can as
than skinny
this will only add bulk.
You can wear
pants/shorts/jeans with
patterns as this will assist in creating more
proportion. Avoid tshirts with large
scooped necklines and
jackets with large lapels
as this will only serve to
widen the chest
