LAST TIME OUT
The Sabres handed MSOE its first loss of the season, overcoming a three-point deficit at
halftime to win, 62-53, inside the Sadoff. Sam Koslowski led the Sabres with 14 points
on 5-of-10 shooting, including going 2-for-4 from long range. Cody Veleke added 12 points
and six rebounds, while Elan Solvik led all rebounders with a career-high 11 caroms.
Freshman Montrell Hobbs put forth yet another tremendous effort off the bench,
scoring 10 points, while pulling down six rebounds. The Sabres outrebounded the Raiders,
39-26, and outscored them off the bench, 24-9, in the win. Marian moved to 2-0 in league
play for the first time since 2007-08.
WHAT’S WITH THE WARRIORS?
Wisconsin Lutheran College enters Thursday with a 3-2 overall mark, including a 1-1 record
in NACC play after defeating Lakeland College at home, 62-60, on Tuesday. The Warriors
currently lead the NACC in rebounding margin (+5.8), averaging more than 42 rebounds per
contest through five games played.
Sophomore guard Jake Jarnigo leads the Warriors with 17.2 points per game on 41.3
percent from the field. Kyle Stelse is second on the team at 11.4 ppg, followed by Jim
Marose at 9.6. Jim Marose and Brett Lubbe are the team’s top rebounders at 8.0 and 9.8
rebounds per game, respectivley.
REGENT RUNDOWN
Rockford University suffered its first blemish last Saturday, Nov. 30, at MSOE, but rebounded
nicely for an 83-79 win on the road at Dominican on Tuesday. The Regents are 5-1 overall,
2-1 in the NACC and lead the league scoring 90.5 points per game.
The Regents have four of their five starters averaging in double figures, led by David
Dixon’s 23.5 ppg on 50.5 percent from the field, including 45.5 percent from three-point
range. Dixon also adds 8.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Scott Suchy is pouring in 17
ppg, followed by Tory Minnifield and Marlon Sykes at 10.7 and 10.5 ppg, respectively. Ron
Farmer-Blanchard is close behind at 9.3 ppg.
SERIES HISTORY
WISCONSIN LUTHERAN
The Sabres and Warriors have met 52 times according to the Marian record books with
both teams deadlocked at 26 wins apiece. Marian has victories in three straight meetings
dating back to the 2010-11 season.
In their last meeting, the Sabres defeated the Warriors in a close one, 75-71, back on
Jan. 12, 2013 in Milwaukee. Drew Binversie tallied 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while
adding seven rebounds. Cody Veleke chipped in 18 points

The Sabres and Regents have met 16 times previously with Rockford holding the slight, 9-7,
edge all-time. Marian snapped a six-game losing streak to their foes to the south with a
65-60 win at home back on Jan. 5, 2013.
Prior to that, the Regents hadn’t lost to the Sabres since the 2006-07 season when
Marian swept Rockford. That included the Sabres’ last road win over the Regents, which
was a 74-55 decision back on Jan. 10, 2007.
THE COACHES
The top-two tenured coaches in the state of Wisconsin will square off Thursday night when
Marian’s Mark Boyle, in his 26th season, and WLC’s Skip Noon, in his 22nd season, lead
their respective teams. The two coaches have 595 career coaching victories with Boyle
claiming 327 of those. Rockford’s head man, Rob Rebsom, is in his ninth year and sits at 85
career wins after the team’s 5-1 start this season.
