emale entertainers have and continue to endure biased
encounters based on gender stereotypes both in music and
television, but in previous years we have seen most of them, despite
adversities in the media industry challenging the status quo, breaking
barriers, building careers and insisting on their talent, relevance and
contribution in the entertainment industry. One such influential woman
is Rami Chuene who in plentiful projects proved that women are
equally talented as their male counterparts. In this August Women's
Month Issue, MAM invited the award winning Rami
Chune(F.A.M.E SA Award Best Female Actress) for her role
as Khomotjo on Muvhango to talk about women in the television and
music industry.
