confirms the efforts:“ In Germany there is currently a lot of interest in environmental themes, and a lot of rethinking has been done at large companies. The issue of sustainability has reached us here, and we are noticing that increasingly in the inquiries we receive about conferences. Therefore, we- as a sustainable region and entrepreneurs – have to demonstrate transparency and outwardly communicate what has already been implemented here on a daily basis for many years. But we must not just make promises in this regard: we have to provide concrete examples of implementation.”
One of those examples is the project called“ Sustainability in the State Forest”, which the network is currently promoting jointly with the Bavarian State Forests and the event agencies of the region. When Forestry Manager Stefan Pratsch learned about the Sustainability Code of Conduct project at Tegernsee for the first time, he spontaneously offered to get involved. One particular
concern of Pratsch is to ensure that recreational visitors do not just regard the mountain forest as a sports arena. On the contrary, environmentally compatible events are intended to forestall prohibitions or blocked off areas that would be otherwise necessary.“ Those who commit to and adhere to the“ rightandfair” code of conduct can proceed on the assumption that customer satisfaction will also increase. We want to help people experience nature in a more environmentally compatible way. That is why we have developed binding rules for dealing with our forest together with Tagungserlebnis Tegernsee. That is the only way we can really operate sustainably and also develop a valuable understanding of nature among vacationers,” says Pratsch.
Ralf Schönberger, the owner of the Crossing Mind agency, has also undertaken to adhere to the“ rightandfair” code with his company.“ The concepts of“ fairness”,“ sustainability” and“ careful husbandry of all resources” have already been an integral part of all planning and considerations at crossing mind since it was founded. Our entrepreneurial activities are strongly influenced by that – every day. And we put those concepts into practice in real life. So of course committing ourselves to this sustainability code of conduct is just a logical consequence.“
Nevertheless, the responsible individuals in Tegernsee still have a lot of work and convincing to do.“ Sustainability starts with small steps. As tourism professionals and entrepreneurs, we can make our contribution to environmentally compatible, sustainable living in Tegernsee with our initiative. For us that also means taking on responsibility for our actions within the association,” says Michael Götz, who is confident the efforts are on the right track. www. tagungserlebnis-tegernsee. de
