MEET YOUR CREATOR: APPRECIATING HASHEM’S GREAT OUTDOORS '? ??even colored the edible part of the watermelon, leaving the inedible part colorless T here is yet another fascinating aspect to the watermelon: it is beautifully colored inside to repay a person’s patience! This color, however, is not wasteful, as it is only the edible part that has this coloring while the outer rind remains colorless. Think about it: the inedible rind has no color since it does not need one. Outside, the rind is coated with the thinnest layer of deep-green coloring to display when it is ripe – but this coating is remarkably thin so as not to waste any color! When eating a watermelon, a person cannot avoid spitting out the seeds, thereby spreading them H ow about the fact that the watermelon seeds are only found throughout the fruit, yet not within the rind? This demonstrates that it has the intention of spreading its seeds. When eating the fruit of a watermelon, a person cannot avoid the need to spit out the seeds, thereby disseminating them. If the seeds were in the rind, this would never happen! !'??? ???? ????? ?? How great are Your deeds, Hashem! 14
