The Fort Pierce Regional Campus has seen its share of success! The M. D. Class of 2026 graduated in May, with the M. D. Class of 2027 beginning its steps towards the final year. Following are highlights from the Fort Pierce Regional Campus.
Graduation!
The Fort Pierce Regional Campus honored the Class of 2026 during a graduation dinner held May 1, 2026, at the Pelican Yacht Club. Hosted by Juliette Lomax-Homier M. D., Regional Campus dean, the evening included remarks from Alma Littles M. D., dean of the FSU College of Medicine, and recognized the continued support of regional campus community board members and faculty from the tri-county area.
Several students, faculty, and staff were recognized for their achievements and service. Shannon Hurley received the Dean’ s Award, while Emily Dolce, Kiana Reaves, and Bonnie Wilt were honored by the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Livia Hochman and Alexis Kendall were recognized as winners of the 2026 Daniel Van Durme Humanism in Medicine Essay Contest. The Class of 2026 also presented Dr. George Mitchell with the Excellence in Teaching Award and Urszula Knight with the Extra Mile Award. In honor of the graduating class, the Class of 2027 made a donation to HANDS of St. Lucie County, a nonprofit medical clinic. Congratulations to all!

A new class arrives!
On June 1st, the Fort Pierce Regional Campus welcomed 21 medical students from the Class of 2028! We are excited to have them at our campus for the next two years as they travel around the Treasure Coast area doing clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining experience in all disciplines to become well-rounded physicians. This is always an exciting time. Orientation went very well. We even had a Meet and Greet orientation dinner for them to officially meet our Clerkship Directors.
