AHSN INTERNATIONAL OFFICE
UPDATE: MISSION TO INDIA
The Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) International
Office recently embarked on its second mission following
the trip to Dubai in January.
Kevin Kiely, Chief Executive of Medilink North West and
Philip Dylak, Innovation Director of North West Coast
AHSN, participated in a mission to India led by Una O’Brian,
Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health.
The Mission was an intensive programme involving meeting
government officials and visiting various facilities in Delhi,
Chandigarh, Pune and Goa.
Medilink North West is
pleased to welcome its latest
member, leading supplier of
specialist testing equipment
for mobility scooters and
large batteries - ACT Meters
International Ltd.
ACT is based in Rainford, Merseyside, and has served the
security industry since 1987.
The company’s core product is the GOLD PLUS Intelligent Battery
Tester, which is ideal for engineers who service mobility stairlifts,
scooters and wheelchairs. The device is handheld and identifies
batteries which need recharging or replacing.
ACT primarily sell this unit to the security industry but over the
years, there’s been growing interest from the healthcare and
assisted living markets. Stannah Stairlift engineers use GOLD
PLUS when servicing their stairlifts, as do ThyssenKrupp.
Jane Bloor, Director of ACT Meters International Ltd, said: “We
are very pleased to become a part of the Medilink network. ACT
is looking to grow its presence within the healthcare sector.
“In the next 12 months we will be visiting and networking at a
number of trade shows including Rehacare in Germany. Our
ultimate goal is to find a distributor for assisted living products
within Europe, Scandinavia and America.”
