Medilink has successfully delivered a project for the Business
Growth Hub in the vital area of business mentoring.
The programme, called MentorTec, is part of the Government’s
£2.6million Mentor Challenge Fund which will be helping small
businesses to access expert help to grow their business.
MentorTec will support mentees in areas that might relate to
a number of business issues, from new growth businesses,
exploring finance to expand, setting new goals, facing a
business dilemma to just needing a second opinion.
Medilink recruited 14 mentors and 17 mentees for the
programme, which is set to be delivered over the next 12 months.
In partnership with Medilink, the Business Growth Hub
mentoring team will be setting up mentoring partnerships that
suit individual industry expertise, available time and interests.
The Business Growth Hub collaborated with Medilink in order
to utilise the organisation’s sector specific knowledge and
connectivity to identify mentors and mentees in the
north of Engl and.
The induction program will carefully match experienced
mentors with mentees to develop a professional and mutually
beneficial working relationship. Participation is on a voluntary
basis with mentors and mentees committing to work together
for 12 months supported by the Business Growth Hub.
CELOX HAEMOSTAT GAUZE APPROVED FOR USE WITHIN THE US MILITARY
National Medilink UK Award winner for innovation, Medtrade,
has had its Celox haemostatic gauze approved for use within
the US military.
The US military are adopting new technologies to save soldiers’
lives on the battlefield, and have approved the Celox bandage
which can stop catastrophic arterial bleeding in three minutes.
The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC),
which is responsible for recommending the frontline medic
training and equipment for all US front line troops, voted to
approve the use of Celox Gauze, paving the way for troops to
include it in their packs.
The product is also fully FDA cleared and has been in use with
British and other ISAF troops for some time.
Chris Marsden from Medtrade said:“Celox works alongside
other innovations from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan,
such as the new tourniquets and drugs that help keep blood
clots intact.
“It stops bleeding with simple pressure and is simple and
rugged for front-line use. We’re delighted with this review by
the CoTCCC and to be able to make a difference in this area.”
