Prior to his freshman year at Michigan, he was an All-Star California Collegiate League with the Slo Blues. Son of Shelly and Brad. Two siblings, Cody and Jessica. Brother, Cody played at Michigan after 4 years at San Diego. Intending to major in Psychology.

In his first season at Hawaii. Kinzie Spent two seasons at Pierce College where he played in 101 career games, hitting three homers and driving in 53 runs while totaling 19 doubles, five triples and working 60 walks. A second-team All-Northwest Athletic Conference selection as a sophomore in 2024. Hit. 268 in 2024 with 15 doubles, a homer and 38 RBIs while adding 15 doubles and four triples. Posted an OBP of. 386 while scoring 34 runs and working 29 walks. Recorded 11 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games, including a four-hit, five-RBI game on Mar. 30. Appeared in 50 games as a freshman in 2023, hitting two homers while driving in 15 runs. A 2022 graduate of Waiakea High School where he was named first-team All-Hawai‘ i by ScoringLive as a senior. A first-team all-state selection by the Honolulu Star Advertiser. Helped lead Waiakea to a Division I state title and undefeated season in 2022. Named to the HHSAA All-Tournament team after delivering the go-ahead two-run single in the state title game.

2023-24 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll. Kirby was a redshirt for the 2024 season. Pitched for the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League where he finished 2-1 with a 3.60 earned run average. Named a GCSCL All-Star after striking out 35 batters in 25.0 innings. Named to the 2023-24 Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll. In high school, Kirby was ranked as the No. 58 RHP prospect in the state of Texas by Perfect Game. A three-year letterwinner in baseball at Cypress Woods. Son of Valarie and Bryan Kirby. Has two sisters. His father was director of baseball operations at Rice from 2018-24. Older sister, Sydney, plays softball at Tennessee Tech. Career ambition is to become an Air Force pilot. Enjoys fishing, hunting and playing poker in his spare time. Kirby is also a finance major.
