LASER HAIR REMOVAL
This is a med-aesthetic procedure that uses a laser beam to remove unwanted body hair. A laser beam is absorbed by the
hair’s melanin pigment and is converted to heat. The heat destroys the tube-shaped sacs called hair follicles that are
responsible for hair growth. This inhibits or delays future hair growth. Utmost care is necessary to avoid damaging the skin
pigment. The risk tends to be greater when the skin color closely matches the hair color. Further, laser hair removal tends to
be less effective when done on hair with red, blond, grey or white color because they do not absorb light well.
Some advanced hair removal removal machines like the sharplight photoepilation machine are able to achieve permanent
hair removal by applying highly energy five-pulse beams to the hair follicles.
