The Assistive Robotics Lab centers on research building human-assistance devices and understanding how to make them work most effectively with the body . The goal of the lab is to help people regain lost capabilities , or enable the performance of tasks that were not previously possible . Ongoing research includes flexible human exoskeletal devices , sensors and control systems for wearable robotics , and research to help understand human biomechanics and the body ’ s internal control strategy .
