Well done to all the students in Mrs Hyland ' s third year German classes who entered the German Blog writing competition in March .
There was a great response with many entries and the standard was excellent .
Congratulations to the overall winner Carla Duffy and to the runnersup Sadhbh Buckley and Aoibeann Price , who all won Easons vouchers .

TY Lip Sync Battle
A TY ‘ Lip Sync Battle ’ will take place on Wednesday 26 th May . MEC TYs have been super busy practising and pre recording and editing their musical performaces in pods . Musicals include : ‘ Hairspray ’, ‘ Legally Blonde ’, ‘ Grease ’, ‘ The Greatest Showman ’, ‘ All Shook Up ’, ‘ High School Musical ’ and ‘ Mamma Mia ’. The ‘ Lip Sync Battle ’ show will be broadcast live next Wednesday evening at 7.30pm on Zoom . This is an inclusive opportunity for parents / guardians , grandparents and siblings alike to view an end of year TY showcase from the safety of our own couches ! There will be three MEC staff judges on the night with five prizes including : Best Overall Production , Best Costume , Best Comedic Element , Best Lip Sych and Best Choreography . Thanks to the MEC PE Dept . for organising this new initiatve and best of luck to all involved .
TY Graduation Cermony
The TY graduation will take place from 3pm to 4pm on Tuesday 25 th of May and will run in the same format as for 6 th years graduation cermonies . TY will receive their certificates from their tutors in class and there will be a live feed to the main hall with the announcement of the Kathleen O ’ Leary nominees and awards by MEC principals .
