We have entered students before in this contest but this is our first time to win the contest & first time to receive a “ Special mention Diploma ”.
We are proud of all five students ’ performance in this contest . They were also very appreciative of being offered the opportunity to take part in a European competition and demonstrate their talent as translators . Students ’ feedback on day of the contest indicated that the texts were relevant , current and appealing . They liked the positive tone of
the texts ; they highlighted how European citizens came together to support and stand in solidarity with victims of the pandemic .
As language teachers , we hope that our students ’ success in this competition will inspire younger learners to engage with commitment and enthusiasm in learning languages . Who knows what doors their language skills will open for them in the future ?
