The final day of EYE on the Edge focused on our current shared reality : the COVID-19 pandemic . Two panel discussions concentrated on the pursuit of art and activism in a pandemic , and a sustainable fashion workshop was also given by the Useless Project and Spice Vintage . As the event drew to a close with further displays of Galwegian talent , I reflected on the copious issues and
ideas that had been brought up over the weekend : from the Common Agricultural Policy reforms , eco-anxiety and multilingualism , to political representation , cultural norms and artistic expression , the diverse range of subject matter reflected the diverse voices that EYE on the Edge wanted to amplify , and certainly reminded me that , no matter what stage of lockdown we ’ re in , Europe ’ s doors are wide open , even to those on the very edge .
