Those 9 months... Trial, Patience & Perseverance
The interview helped me spot the areas I needed to work on and boosted my confidence nevertheless which had been sliding with each passing month.
One morning, I received a mail from PwC asking if I would be interested in an opening there. I knew my chances were very slim given the high rejection rate at PwC and my lack of hands-on practice for the past 8 months.
Nevertheless, my 6 months of extensive preparation came handy when during the second round of interview I was given a hands-on problem to solve. I was able to solve it in the absolute perfect way possible and that was when I thought I might just land this job.
Two rounds later, I got an offer from one of the biggest players in the consulting arena and I was ecstatic.
Those nine months imbibed in me a conviction that I can not only face failures and learn from them but also that with my willpower and hard work, I would eventually succeed. Therefore, the increased amount of effort that I put into my work now has resulted in the extraordinary performance at PwC. I learned the value of endurance and am able to empathize more with people. Thus, this period transformed my outlook towards life and gave me a vision and my long term goal that I now strive for.
