N4 Shabbat Dinner: Oh, What A Night!
by Aviva Yablok, [email protected]
On Friday night, November 8th, the families of our Nursery Four classes came together to celebrate Shabbat. We began with Shalom Aleichem and Kiddush, washing and Hamotzi and we enjoyed the home baked (by our kitchen staff) challot. The children ate a delicious Shabbat meal and then were escorted upstairs to the lobby for some entertainment by Loonie Louie. The adults remained in the dining room for socializing, a Dvar Torah by Dr. Jamie Nussbaum and Zemirot led by Rabbi Jeremy Litton. When the children returned for dessert, they sang Shabbat songs with Rabbi Litton. Our evening concluded with Birkat Hamazon and Shabbat take-home cookies baked by our own N4 students.
One of the highlights of the evening was having Morah Yona and Morah Nitzan sharing the Shabbat meal with our families.
I remember when I was young, what a thrill it was to spend time with a favorite teacher outside of school. Last Friday night, I saw the special bonds that have formed between our students and their teachers as the children surrounded the morot throughout the evening. A special Mazal Tov to Morah Nitzan who became engaged to Shai Givon this past week. Morah Nitzan brought Shai to our dinner so he could “meet the family”. We all approved of the shidduch and wish them the best. Thanks to the dinner chair people, Beth Taksel and Julie Gans Ackerman. We also thank Aleta and her crew for the yummy Shabbat food. Special thanks to our 7th and 8th grade chesed volunteers for helping set up and helping the children throughout the dinner.
Join us for a special Pre-Chanukah Concert featuring Uncle Moishy and the Mitzvah Men for Toddler through 1st Grade.
Wednesday, November 27th, at 10:00 am.
