Preparing for Kabbalat HaChumash
by Morah Nelly Brody, [email protected]
Our second graders are enjoying the path which is preparing us for the important and exciting milestone of receiving our chumashim. We are acquiring valuable, essential skills that are valuable to us as proud Torah learners.
In addition, we learned about the production of Sifrei Torah. Rabbi Yablok visited our class with the tools of a sofer-the ink, quill and parchment. He showed us examples of kosher and non-kosher mezuzot , a pair of tefilin, a megillah and a section of an old sefer torah from Yemen. Thank you Rabbi Yablok for an enjoyable and enlightening lesson!
Sixth Grade iPad Program Launch
by Messenger Staff
The sixth grade pilot iPad program started off with a bang. The students
received their iPads on Monday and have been enamored with this educational tool. The students have accessed course documents through a virtual classroom and have created their own interactive notebooks. Some students
watched videos about rocks & minerals while others posted their opinions
about a newspaper article onto a classroom discussion board. Students have been really enjoying the haiku LMS system where they have access to
all their course information and a personalized calendar, as well as other
important features. The system also provides additional opportunities for
differentiation and individualized learning. We can't wait to continue to
learn and grow through the use of this new technology.
