Houses, by Liana Goldstein

Houses

Life is a house.

there are doors that are open

there are doors that are closed.

they keep on switching around

Life is a house.

there are clocks that are ticking

there are clocks that are out of battery.

time ticking away

Hoses are built

Houses are knocked down.

Life is a house

Just waiting to be lived in

Snow Poem, by Emma Kassai

Where is Summer?

Where is summer?

where is that gentle breeze?

that glowing sun?

that boiling hot wind blowing towards me

Instead

we have that strong cold breeze

snow coming from each direction

and that is when we ask ourselves

Where is summer?

We miss

those beach days

that lemonade with ice cubes

saying it is too hot outside

Now

we have our bodies, frozen

hot chocolate for that small bit of warmth

and asking

Where is summer?
