ผู้เรียนกับสารัตถะ The world needs our help. The earth is now being destroyed by all the pollution and all the other things people have done. People have done so many things to benefit themselves but they did not think of the damage these things might cause the earth. Now the earth is in danger and if we do not do anything to help it, we will be the ones who will suffer. There are many ways we can save the earth, such as 3R – Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. The 3R system has proved that it can help save the earth. And if people all over the world use this system, it can surely save the planet. In conclusion, people need to be aware of what they have done to the earth. It is now in very bad condition, but it is not too late for us to save the earth and bring back the environment the world once had. You can start by just changing your daily routine into actions that will help. For example, ride a bicycle instead of using a car or bring your own container when you buy Starbucks. That is the simplest way to help the earth and everyone can do it. *** SECOND PLACE *** If the Earth Could Speak.... By Ms Pathitta Tantakom M6/1 Earth is considered to be one of the most beautiful planets in the universe. It supplies human beings with food, water, and energy. Without the earth, it would be impossible for humans to survive. Unfortunately, without thinking, humans do things that lead to the earth being damaged. If the earth were to speak, it would probably beg all the inhabitants to stop harming nature. We can see that a large number of trees are being cut down nowadays. Everyone realizes that trees play an important role in absorbing the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and turning it into oxygen for humans to breathe. The more deforestation there is, the more carbon dioxide there wil be. Consequently, humans will no longer have fresh air and this could lead to humans themselves being destroyed. Furthermore, cars used today have an impact on the earth in a number of ways. They produce large amounts of carbon dioxide, which can lead to the destruction of human life. Some people suffer from lung cancer due to their respiratory system being damaged. Apart from impacts that occur for the air, water pollution is another serious issue. People throw trash in the water where aquatic animals swallow it. This action causes a large number of sea animals to become susceptible to dying out. Consequently, their life cycles are no longer sustainable. In conclusion, all of the problems that occur nowadays are serious issues that can no longer be ignored. Moreover, it is not just the government’s responsibility to tackle these problems. Everyone living in this world should have the responsibility to take care of the environment so that it will be with us for many more generations. ฉบับที่ 50 ปีที่ 13 ปีการศึกษา 2559 Mater Dei News 19
